Since our Company started in 1979 we have seen many changes in the Automotive Lock and Key systems, in our early days most Automotive locks were very simple and Central locking was just making an entry into 'Top of the Range' vehicles. Most door locks were of the FT/FV types and not very secure. Since then we have seen the introduction of High Security keys and locks with more and more electronics built into them. Many of these vehicles have keys that require sophisticated machinery to cut keys of which even the simplest cost hundreds of pounds, and a company like BLC requires far greater accuracy which can only be given by computer driven & autorecalibrating machines each of these costing from ten to twenty thousand pounds. |

With the price of the new keys costing anything from £8 up to £70 Parts Managers can't afford mistakes that used to be offset by the profit margins of the old keys. It is becoming more profitable to allow a company such as BLC who have invested in machinery that has a very low error margin to cut these keys and still allow the Dealers to make a worthwhile profit so we include in our services a next day supply of cut keys for any type of vehicle and carry one of the largest selection of Automotive keys in the UK. Many Distributors use our Lock Recoding services to keep Warranty Claims down to a minimum by changing individual locks instead of whole locksets. |
